Other information: Ms. Zona Miller was a well-respected school teacher, a successful merchant and certainly a very talented lady. Zona played the piano and was a good singer. During the "Depression" Zona had a little food stand and sold lunches for five cents. Everyone said the lunches were very tasty. Pearl Birdwell Garner said Fred and Zona Miller's home was always open to young people. They were very popular and kids just loved them. Fred and Zona would take young people to Buggy Top Cave. Sometimes they would ride in a mule-drawn wagon and at other times they would walk. On one such trip, in a wagon, the Millers took Pearl Birdwell and her two brothers, Arthur & Ardell, Vernie Garner (Russell), plus Alma, Edna, and Clifford Wells. For lunch at Buggy Top they took along ham-biscuits, and popcorn balls. On the way, via Lost Cove Road, they stopped by Merdy Garner's house and his wife, Callie, gave them a box full of baked sweet potatoes.
