Gager Lime Company
History

Gager Lime Letterhead -This logo was scanned from a piece of Gager Lime
company stationery.
Gilbert Adkins in an article
in the Franklin County Historical Review, 1988, says Byron Gager came
to Sherwood in 1892 from Sandusky, Ohio to organize the manufacturing
company, that continued until closing in 1949.
 |
Gager had worked in the lime business in Sandusky
before coming to Sherwood. His company was not the first to manufacture
lime in the town, however. A Mr. Webster had the first
lime kiln in Sherwood, near the present post office. |
The company was at its peak around 1920-24.
